Hang onto your hat and open your mind as we follow this German-inspired trajectory to see how lives can become more creative, productive and utterly transformed. After all, we've been trained to work for money. But what if we could spend that time and energy on improving ourselves instead? Along those lines, it's no wonder that we've probably never heard about the serious Canadian discussions for a guaranteed annual income. We most certainly haven't heard about the experiments delivering unconditional support closer to home in New Jersey, Seattle and Denver.
But these attempts at the redistribution of power are more than abstract possibilities for the future—they are happening right now and have been for a while. The future is, indeed, already here.
