Danette's Healing Journey Films

I'd been programming the best of conscious film for almost 5 years before I realized these films were just as much for me as they were for the world. Below are the 6 tools I learned from the 10 films that paved my way back to wellness.

1. INTUTION

THE POWER OF THE HEART
armed me with a critical tool for my healing journey - an internal GPS.

2. THE VALUE OF ALTERNATIVE HEALTH

In BIPOLARIZED, the subject, Ross, abandons pharmaceuticals and embarks on a healing journey using shamanic healing, trauma release, yoga and inner-child work to restore his health and reclaim his life. This empowered me with the idea of addressing the "Root Cause," not simply controlling symptoms. I realized that while conventional medicine has its many strengths, it doesn't have ALL of the answers.  The film left me inspired to be an intuitive advocate for my own health and well-being.  Other films aided me in this process.  WAHT THE HEALTH opened my eyes to the flaws of our medical system.  MAGIC PILLS, I learned about the legitimacy of homeopthy. And THE C WORD proved to me that alternative health practice can even treat cancer... with success.

3. THE BODY-MIND CONNECTION

E-MOTION | ALL THE RAGE | HEAL
If it weren't for these 3 films, I might have seen myself as a helpless patient. Through E-MOTION, ALL THE RAGE and HEAL, I came to understand the body-mind connection, how we can consciously affect the biology of our bodies using the power of thought. I went head first into a process of releasing trapped emotions, fears, and unprocessed life experiences that I unknowingly held in my body.

4. FOOD IS THY MEDICINE

After MAY I BE FRANK and a week spent at the Optimum Health Institute (OHI), I became an avid wheatgrass juicer, eager to eliminate toxins from my body. Thanks to the family depicted in SECRET INGREDIENTS, I turned to nutrition to power my healing. With 21 chronic diseases between them, this young family goes entirely non-GMO and organic with miraculous health results. To fully optimize my immune system before my surgery, I engaged fully in a nutritional and wheatgrassing plan that would restore my micrbiome and expedite my post-surgery recovery.

5. CAPACITIES OF CONSCIOUSNESS

DEATH MAKES LIFE POSSIBLE delved into the nature and capacities of consciousness. Through cutting-edge science by Dean Radin at the Institute of Noetic Sciences and Princeton University, scientists proved that physical events can be altered by collective consciousness and that consciousness shapes physical reality.  With this in mind, I invited friends and colleagues to gather for intetion ceremony days before my surgery where we sent light, strength and protection to the hospital room, to the operating room, to the doctors and nurses.  By the time I arrived at the hostpital, I felt so cradled in love and protection, there was no space in any cell of my body for fear.  And in the deepest moment of fear, when we believed the surgery to have failed, it was a box of their prayers and affirmations that saved me.

6. THE HEALING POTENTIAL OF SURRENDER

DYING TO KNOW and BEING NOBODY taught me perhaps the most powerful tool for my healing - the art of surrender.  As a business school student, I'd been taught and encouraged to control every outcome to my liking, and these outcomes drove my sense of self-worth and dictated how far I would go, and what I was willing to sacrifice, to achieve them. These two films turned me on to the teachings of Ram Das, who offered another way, a healthier way, one that would leverage the power of co-creating with the universe. I recall him saying, " detach... find what's within..." It is from Ram Das that I learned to let go of my somebodyness, and I continue to let go a bit more every day.

Here, here... to the power of mighty movie medicine.

With love and blessings for healing,

Danette
