Job Description

Seasonal Team Volunteer Position


The Outreach Coordinator, under the direction of the Marketing Manager, will increase awareness of ILLUMINATE in the community by organizing community partnerships and disseminating publicity materials to Sedona/Verde Valley/Arizona organizations, educational institutions and small businesses.

Objective:  To increase engagement with the Festival, including newsletter signup, pass and ticket purchases, volunteer registration, Healing Village applications, newsletter blasting and social media exposure.


Outreach Partnerships

  • Identify and cultivate Festival outreach partners, including community organizations, centers, civil entities, businesses and schools/professors/student clubs
  • Organize ILLUMINATE presentations to constituencies (e.g. Sedona Women, Sedona 30, Rotary Club, City Council, student organizations, Course in Miracles class, etc.)
  • Assemble and oversee creative promotional partnerships, including ticket giveaways, raffles, contests, events, eblasts, etc.  Create and send any necessary ILLUMINATE materials (eblast copy, flyers, letters, etc.)
  • Leverage outreach partnerships to promote specific films that need a boost
  • Create and maintain outreach contact list

Collateral Distribution/Street Team

  • Recruit your volunteer Outreach street team members
  • Coordinate printing, distribution and replenishment of Festival postcards, special on-location promo offers, flyers, catalogs and posters throughout Sedona/Verde Valley/Arizona areas
  • Create community events calendar for distribution of collateral materials
  • Track distribution locations (storefronts, hotels, businesses, concierges, visitor centers, etc.)

General Duties

  • Submit detailed Wrap Report 
  • Transition/train successor
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Knowledge of Sedona/Verde Valley/Arizona community organizations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from top management, groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Self-starter with initiative
  • Team-oriented
  • Up to 6-10 hours per week availability, on average, including team meetings
  • Full availability during dates of Festival
