This is the story of a family who left the beaten path in order to find a new perspective on life. They left their successful cosmopolitan European life behind and moved with their three young children to the woods of Upper Michigan, where they befriended a clan of Native Americans. They had no idea that this was only to be a touchstone for the journey of a lifetime; the journey that became the film DOWN to EARTH. Inspired by the depth of wisdom present with these people, they felt drawn to meet other people who hold keys of knowledge around the world. Together with their children, one camera and a backpack each, they went on a journey to find the so-called Keepers of the Earth. Crossing cultural boundaries with global questions, they discovered that the same concerns lie in the hearts of all the people they met, but that through the emerging themes of respect, simplicity, reverence, community and the wisdom of the heart, there are alternatives and solutions. DOWN to EARTH is both a wake up call as a resurgence of hope for our world to come. A demonstration of what is possible when you ask questions, and have the courage to follow your intuition.
